Here are some of my tips for getting your home ready for a photo or video shoot!

The goal is to create a warm, inviting space that will help show your home in it’s best light!

HOME PREP TIPS

WILL be photographed: Bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen(s), living room(s), loft(s), laundry room, large walk in closets(if desired)

WILL NOT be photographed: Hall closets, small bedroom closets, and the garage if it is very messy

Pro Tip: Extra Clutter? …Put it in the “WILL NOT be photographed” areas! :D

INSIDE:

  • Turn ON all lights

  • Turn OFF all fans (no moving blades)

  • Open ALL drapes, curtains, and blinds (Let that beautiful light in)

  • De-Clutter all Rooms: remove items from counters/clean up

  • Replace any burnt out light bulbs

  • Hide trash cans out of sight

  • Put all toilet seats down

  • Remove all evidence of animals/pets (stow away dog beds, cat litter boxes, etc.)

  • Depersonalize! (Remove excess family photos, take magnets off of fridge, etc.)

OUTSIDE:

  • Try your best to hide your cars

    • Option 1: Park cars on street/sidewalk a couple houses down so they won’t be in front of the house

    • Option 2: Hide cars in a discreet location that you don’t think will get in the way of any shots

    • Option 3: Park cars in the garage if the garage won’t be photographed

  • Roll up and/or put away any/all hoses

  • Tidy up your front and back lawn

  • Hide outside trash cans

  • If you have a pool, take out the pool sweep and hose
