My name is Triston Ioppini owner of TriMotion Media and I am a professional Real Estate Photographer and Videographer! (See Portfolio)
Here are some of my tips for getting your home ready for a photo or video shoot!
The goal is to create a warm, inviting space that will help show your home in it’s best light!
HOME PREP TIPS
WILL be photographed: Bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen(s), living room(s), loft(s), laundry room, large walk in closets(if desired)
WILL NOT be photographed: Hall closets, small bedroom closets, and the garage if it is very messy
Pro Tip: Extra Clutter? …Put it in the “WILL NOT be photographed” areas! :D
INSIDE:
Turn ON all lights
Turn OFF all fans (no moving blades)
Open ALL drapes, curtains, and blinds (Let that beautiful light in)
De-Clutter all Rooms: remove items from counters/clean up
Replace any burnt out light bulbs
Hide trash cans out of sight
Put all toilet seats down
Remove all evidence of animals/pets (stow away dog beds, cat litter boxes, etc.)
Depersonalize! (Remove excess family photos, take magnets off of fridge, etc.)
OUTSIDE:
Try your best to hide your cars
Option 1: Park cars on street/sidewalk a couple houses down so they won’t be in front of the house
Option 2: Hide cars in a discreet location that you don’t think will get in the way of any shots
Option 3: Park cars in the garage if the garage won’t be photographed
Roll up and/or put away any/all hoses
Tidy up your front and back lawn
Hide outside trash cans
If you have a pool, take out the pool sweep and hose
